Tuesdays - 1pm-2pm Host: Steve Muth a.k.a DJ SPM-1 The show in the present time revolves around mostly music. From time to time the discussion may turn to topics such as politics, culture, and economics. The music is based on a soulful groove, melody, harmony, romance and straight jammin' on the 1. Musical genres include pop, jazz, blues, r&b, gospel (on occassions), soul, neo-soul, funk, reggae, latin, afro-beat, house, new wave, rock (very choosy mostly certain classic rock & alternative), rap, and the greatest musical genre to of come out of New York City since the 1970's: hip-hop (a culture in itself). Discussions include the music itself, the bamboozlement of the entertainment industry, culture, etc. A colleague of mine at WBCR, Dave Simon AKA The Messenger and I recently did a show on air concerning Black (He and myself prefer African American in wording) History. It centered around the music I was playing which had themes of liberation, ethnic identity, spirituality, sexuality, human relations, oppression, etc. That show will be edited to a full two hour format and will be heard again on the air in the future. Plans for the future include having guests on the air who are experts in sexuality, politics, sports, journalism, music, film, etc. The show strives for a groovy vibe with sophistication. Trivia: What tv show did the line "jammin'on the 1" come from? a. The Simpsons b. The Cosby Show c. Solid Gold
